A high-gain omnidirectional circularly polarized (OCP) lens antenna is proposed for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications. It consists of a dielectric polarizer, a novel annular metal lens, and a conventional biconical antenna. To obtain a compact design, the metal lens is integrated with the upper and lower parts of the biconical antenna. A 3-D printed dielectric grids are placed tilted and rotationally symmetrical at the aperture of the lens antenna. It can operate as both an antenna supporting structure and a dielectric polarizer. Using this idea, a metal lens antenna loading a 3-D printed dielectric polarizer operating at 32 GHz is designed. Simulated results show that the proposed antenna can provide a gain of 10.25 dBic.
