  • In this paper, a broadband reception-to-radiation metasurface is introduced to generate dual spin-decoupled beams with high efficiency. With U-slot structure employed as the radiation patch, a reception-to-radiation metasurface element is designed with high transmission efficiency within a wide frequency band. Guided by a proposed spin-decoupled strategy, the designed element is configured to form a metasurface lens. With a horn feed located at the focal point of the lens, the assembled antenna can radiate dual beams respectively in the two spins with opposite chirality. Simulation results of the lens antenna show that a pencil beam in right hand circular polarization is deflected to +x direction with 20° away from the boresight of the aperture whereas a left hand circular polarization beam is tilted to +y direction with a deflection angle of 30°.
