  • This paper focuses on the design of 340GHz EIK electron-optical system. In order to achieve the pulse output power of 40W, a Pierce circular electron gun with voltage of 20KV, current of 204mA, area compression ratio of 247, was designed by using Ovcharov theory and CST software. ANSYS MAXWELL 2D was used to quickly design the uniform magnetic focusing system, and the results were imported into CST for joint debugging of electron-optical system. With 0.79T focusing magnetic field, the radius of electron beam in the range of interaction length is less than 0.08mm, which meets the interaction requirements. Then the corresponding three-dimensional uniform magnetic focusing system is established through CST for the joint simulation of three-dimensional electron-optical system. The electron trajectories calculated under one-dimensional and three-dimensional magnetic fields are compared and found to be in good agreement.
