  • This paper explores the effect of the magnetic core in the inductive power transfer (IPT) system, the cause of abnormal heat source in high power transmission system is determined. The direction of the magnetic induction line in the magnetic field and the magnetic induction intensity on the magnetic core are analyzed using the 3-D finite element analysis method. According to the magnetic core's area and thickness and the magnetic core's geometric shape, the magnetic core, the influence of the magnetic core on the direction of the magnetic induction line is studied, and the optimization route is determined by comparing and analyzing the magnetic core loss and magnetic peak value. The results show that the unreasonable structure of the magnetic core is the main cause of the abnormal heat source. Using the optimized core structure can not only avoid the high local magnetic field but also increase the coupling coefficient, reduce the hysteresis loss, and improve the actual utilization rate of the core, which provides a reference for the core design of the IPT system.
