  • This paper presents a review of the state of the art according to the analysis of human gait in people with some kind of impairment in their movement and considering people with visual impairment. A review of the literature on experimental design methodologies for the analysis of human gait using inertial sensors and the most relevant biomechanical gait parameters is presented and described. In addition, the results of a preliminary experimental test are presented using inertial sensors on a normally sighted subject, who walked in a straight line for a distance of 20 meters in total, with a 180° turn at 10 meters distance, to return to the point of origin. This experimental test was carried out twice, the first time with the person with normal vision (CV) and the second time with the person blindfolded, i.e., without vision (SV), in order to simulate the gait of a person with visual impairment. The gait analysis was carried out with the graphs obtained, as they revealed significant differences between one experiment and the other.
