  • Cosmogonic design in Turkish mythology; is thought of as a three-layered structure consisting of sky, ground and underground. Each of the mentioned plots is interpreted with good and evil concepts. According to this point of view, heaven reflects goodness/enlightenment as the divine space; the underground represents the place of malice, the evil/darkness punished by God. The earth, on the other hand, symbolizes the area inhabited by both the good and the evil. The central symbol of the ground is earth. The sanctity of the earth, the tree, the mountain, and many other factors and features, which are the axis of the world between the earth and sky, are just as thoughtful as the living space of a mother carries her baby. So the soil, the producer, is designed as a fertilizer. In addition to being a living space in different cultures, soil has become an important element of mother-centered symbolic expression with its life-giving and nourishing features. As seen in many other societies, the perception of land as the mainstream in Turkish society and cultural life is based on the need for grasslands in shepherd culture; whereas in agricultural culture it is due to the need for economic loyalty to the land. In this research paper, the consept of mythological mother will be examined according to functional position of folklore products which are related to Turkish mythic design.
