• O Programa Queimadas e Incêndios Florestais (INPE) dissemina os dados de focos de queimadas e de incêndios florestais detectados por satélites que operam na faixa das bandas termais e do infravermelho. Este trabalho teve por objetivo analisar a distribuição espaço-temporal das ocorrências destes eventos no estado de Mato Grosso, nos meses do ano de 2016, observando os municípios e as seguintes tipologias: biomas, terras indígenas, unidades de conservação e uso e ocupação do solo. Para isso foram efetuadas análises descritivas e espaciais de modo a explorar a variação da intensidade de ocorrência dos eventos na região de estudo. O resultado demonstrou que o bioma Amazônico foi o mais afetado. No período de seca (agosto, setembro e outubro), ocorreram mais eventos do que em todos os demais meses do ano, havendo evidência de um padrão de agregação de focos de queimadas e incêndios. Ressalta-se ainda que as terras indígenas tiveram 21,2% dos eventos, as unidades de conservação 2,67% e que na área de floresta ocorreram 39,9%. Este tipo de análise contribui para a tomada de decisão em ações de planejamento na alocação de recursos e de políticas públicas para a educação em relação ao manejo agrícola do fogo no Estado. This paper aimed to analyze the spatial-temporal distribution of the occurrences of these events in the state of Mato Grosso, in the months of the year 2016, taking on account the municipalities and the following typologies: biomes, indigenous lands, conservation units and land use and occupation. For this, descriptive and spatial analyzes were carried out to explore the variation in the intensity of occurrence of events in the study region. The result demonstrated that the Amazon biome was the most affected. In the dry season (August, September, and October), more events occurred than in all other months of the year, with evidence of a pattern of aggregation of outbreaks of fires and fires. The result also showed that the indigenous lands had 21.2% of the events, the conservation units 2.67% and that in the forest area, 39.9% occurred. This kind of analysis contributes to decision making in planning actions in the allocation of resources and public policies for education in relation to agricultural fire management in the State.
