This paper presents the results of the research project HIST 2.1.3.1.2, sponsored by the American Institute of Geography and History (2007-2009), which seeks to present the scientific developments in Peru before the issue of the effects caused by catastrophic natural phenomena. Este trabajo ofrece los resultados del proyecto de investigación HIST 2.1.3.1.2, auspiciado por el Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia (2007-2009), el cual busca presentar la evolución científica en el Perú ante el tema de los efectos causados por fenómenos naturales catastróficos.
