Entre las numerosas historias secundarias que se entrelazan en la novela postuma de Miguel de Cervantes, Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda (1617), se encuentra el relato autodiegetico del polaco Ortel Banedre (III, 6-7), cuyo analisis, realizado a traves de herramientas criticas como la inter e intratextualidad de genero y diegetica, permite resaltar algunos aspectos interesantes sobre la funcion y los efectos de la violencia en la diegesis y en la hibridacion de estilos y generos literarios. Among the numerous secondary stories intertwined in Miguel de Cervantes' posthumous novel, Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda (1617), is the autodiegetic story of the Polish Ortel Banedre (III, 6-7). Analyzing this tale via critical tools such as inter and intratextuality of genre and diegetics, this article will highlight some interesting aspects about the function and effects of violence in the diegesis and in the hybridization of literary styles and genres.
