  • This document discusses oral history and the use of active learning to make classroom teaching interesting and exciting. Oral history is an effective teaching tool that requires students to become active participants in their own learning process. It invites inquiry, stimulates discussion, and transforms abstract concepts into concrete reality. Accounts of oral history projects and suggestions for using such projects in the classroom are presented. Section 1 describes specific oral history projects and gives the perspectives of both teachers and students. Section 2 provides information for the development of an oral history project in the secondary school classroom. Section 3 includes an interviewee background information form, a legal agreement for the use of collected information, a receipt for borrowed historical documents, and a 17-item bibliography. (NL)
