- Previous chapters have presented experimental facts indicating that cavitation in separating flows starts with a sudden emergence of an infinitesimal cavity on the wall close to the point of flow separation. This chapter provides some discussions to answer how such phenomenon occurs at the separation point and a new hypothesis is proposed for its mechanism.
