Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a novel, noninvasive brain stimulation treatment for neurological and psychiatric disorders. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has broadly disrupted rTMS treatment in hospitals and clinics. Portable cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) can be beneficial for patients with depression and anxiety. Here, we report the case of a 48-year-old man with severe depression and anxiety whose symptoms markedly improved after receiving combined rTMS and CES treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
