  • [Display omitted] •The potential and application of aptamer-based QCM sensing analysis were comprehensively reviewed.•Key techniques and examples about the construction of aptamer-based QCM were presented in detail.•QCM has potential applications in aptamer-target interaction studies.•Challenges and future trends in aptamer-based QCM were discussed. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), as a low-cost, real-time, label-free sensing technology, has been widely used in detection, bioanalysis and other fields. With the help of an aptamer, a specific recognition element, QCM can realize high-precision sensing analysis. Meanwhile, due to the real-time and high-quality analysis performance of QCM, it is also often used to characterize aptamer properties such as affinity. However, the number of papers dedicated to the application of QCM for aptamer sensing analysis is very limited, compared with the large number of papers covering diverse QCM sensing technologies. With this reason in mind, this paper provides a comprehensive review of QCM application for aptamer sensing analysis. It reviews the key techniques and examples in the construction of QCM aptasensors, as well as aptamer-based QCM sensing analysis techniques and applications. It aims to provide readers with a detailed understanding of the development and design of QCM aptasensors, as well as a valuable reference base for its further applications.
