  • This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy). This article has been retracted at the request of Editor-in-Chief. This corrigendum was published at the request of the corresponding author, Dr. Wen, as the electron microscopy images contained in Fig. 2D of “Smooth muscle 22 alpha maintains the differentiated phenotype of vascular smooth muscle cells by inducing filamentous actin bundling” by Mei Han, Li-Hua Dong, Bin Zheng, Jian-Hong Shi, Jin-Kun Wen, and Yunhui Cheng (Life Sciences; 2009;84:394–401, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.lfs.2008.11.017, had been previously published as Fig. 2D in “hhLIM Is a novel F-Actin binding protein involved in Actin cytoskeleton remodelling” by Bin Zheng, Jin-Kun Wen and Mei Han (FEBS J;2008;275:1568-1578, https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1742-4658.2008.06315.x). An author-initiated investigation by the Academic Committee of Hebei Medical University concluded that only a corrigendum to the FEBS Journal publication was needed. The FEBS Journal publication has now been corrected in the article titled “Corrigendum to: “hhLIM Is a novel F-Actin binding protein involved in Actin cytoskeleton remodelling”” by Bin Zheng, Jin-Kun Wen and Mei Han (FEBS J;2022;289: 6078–6080, https://doi.org/10.1111/febs.16551), in which Fig. 2D has been removed. In accordance with the Academic Committee of Hebei Medical University’s recommendation, the Life Sciences corrigendum is no longer necessary. The Editor-in-Chief assessed the case and decided to retract the corrigendum.
