• This article provides a brief overview of Caribbean theorist and philosopher Sylvia Wynter's project on a new humanism for the age of global anthropogenic climate change. We offer a summary of Wynter's project in its relation to Enlightenment Humanism's role in anthropogenic global climate change, and argue that she provides a critical and compelling framework for conceptualizing a new form of humanism with crucial implications for understanding and combating anthropogenic climate change.
