- By means of an account of a number of encounters, Anna Dolfi follows, along the thread of friendship, the personality and work of one of Italy’s leading artists, whose reputation was earned by exhibitions in her native country and abroad as well as a museum bearing her name in central Sardinia. From early drawings to works concerning the landscape (some of which to be seen in unpublished photographs), from looms to the interwoven threads of her geographies, this essay reconstructs the poetics, individuality and means of expression of a creator of forms who has successfully united faithfulness to a world of origins nurtured by myths to the experimental character of visual poetry, the Italian Arte Povera (poor art) movement and land art.
