  • Genital prolapse is an exceptional entity in the newborn. It is most often associated with congenital anomalies of the central nervous system. We report the case of a term newborn with genital prolapse. She was sent for management of a perineal mass. On admission the physical examination found a weight to 2800 grs, good general condition temperature at 37° 2, its size at 51 cm, its cranial perimeter at 37 cm. His heart rate was 122 beats/min, his breathing rate was 43 cycles/min. Perineal examination revealed uterine prolapse centered by the cervix (Fig. 1). The rest of his physical examination was normal. No central nervous system abnormalities was found. Management of this case was first convservative with simple reduction first and secondarily reduction and contention with a foley catheter. Failure of this conservative management impose a surgical methode by suture of labia minora. The new born went home a week after suture without. Any recidive was found after six months of following. After description of this case we will do a brief review of the literature on therapeutic methods and evolution. •Uterine prolapse in new born is rare.•Antenatal diagnosis is possible.•Management must be first conservative.
