Aim
. To analyze linguistic politeness strategies of artificial bilinguals in the implementation of the speech act of refusal.
Methodology.
In the course of the study, a linguistic experiment was carried out on the basis of written discursive test methodology.
Results.
The experiment has revealed that artificial bilinguals use a great variety of politeness strategies in their discourse. These strategies are reflected in the head act and the supportive speech acts of refusal.
Research implications.
The submitted methodology allows to analyze the strategies of linguistic politeness which is a part of pragmatic competence. The latter one should be obtained by artificial bilinguals who are learning a foreign language. The results of the experiment can be used in courses on Theory of Intercultural Communication and Pragmalinguistics.
