• This article presents the contemporary world in the eyes of Pope Paul VI. The world revealed by Paul VI is presented in a general way in three meanings. The first: the whole creation, the universe; the second: mankind; the third: there is an evil meaning, and even hostile. The world, in this meaning, is still mankind, but the one that has become a slave of evil. The Pope constantly highlights the modern development of science and technology. Unfortunately, there is a risk of the depersonalisation of human life due to the ambiguity of progress and development. According to the Pope, ‘to be more’ in this context means to achieve complete personal development. A human being should not care about increasing their wealth. They should above all care about the development of their human personality.
