• The survey we conducted in 1998 was for the purpose of determining the place and significance of the nationality question in the lives of college students. The survey covered students in the second through fourth years of study in a number of the faculties of Ul'ianovsk State Technical University. The 200 respondents included representatives of various nationalities (Russians comprising 81 percent); 85 percent of them were city-dwellers and 15 percent were villagers.
