  • 'The Best'—either 'the Best Knight in the World' or 'the Truest Lady'— is at times decided by bizarre tests with scurrilous elements. The examples here treated feature nakedness of victims, of agents provocateurs, and also of 'the Best Knights' and of 'the Truest Ladies' themselves.
