• Anthropology, which deals with the concept of religion and belief as an institution, recognizes religious activities (rituals, religious ceremony) as an indicator of institutionalization. In terms of anthropology, religion and belief are areas that should be considered context-centered. The center of the context is the social and cultural dimension, not the theological aspect. In this respect, it may be argued that anthropology examines the subject of religion as a cultural system. This study investigates the dimensions of anthropology's relationship between religion and ritual. For the research, the works of anthropologists on the subject were examined and the literature developed around them was also used. The aim of the study is to reveal the difference between anthropology's interpretation of religion and ritual phenomena from other scientific fields that research on this subject. In conclusion, it is understood that anthropology evaluates the relationship between religion and ritual in a different context from sociology and religious sciences. The reason for this, anthropology, like other subjects within its scope, starts from the human as the central phenomenon. It is understood from the definitions of anthropologists that anthropology's central point of view is that the situation of man, which differs with geography and culture, should be taken as a basis in religion and ritual studies.
