Eckard Rödger worked for the radio in Leipzig following his training as a sound engineer. He then worked as sound engineer for the theatre at the Palast der Republik

(TiP) in Berlin, where he developed and oversaw concert series of electroacoustic music and was responsible for the production of numerous electroacoustic works. After the fall of the Berlin wall, he received a tenured professorship in sound technology at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy College for music and theatre in Leipzig. Rödger worked with renowned musicians from both serious and pop music.
