In this final article of a long series of written major contributions to the professional literature in family psychology, Dr. L’Abate has succeeded in pulling together and synthesizing many disparate elements to create a grand theory of family psychology. The coherent articulation of such a comprehensive grand theory is long overdue in our field. What L’Abate has promulgated is based on decades of empirical research, extensive reading, cogitation, interacting with and listening to students and colleagues, introspection and keen observation of intimate relational interactions.
