To conduct accurate structural integrity assessment for dissimilar metal welded joint (DMWJ) with interface region cracks, the unified constraint-dependent J-R curves with considering both geometry and material constraints need to be studied and established. In this work, based on a new load-independent unified constraint parameter Ad* and experimental J-R curves of two cracks at interface regions in a DMWJ in nuclear power plants, the unified constraint-dependent J-R curve equations have been investigated and obtained. The prediction accuracy of the equations has been verified by experimental J-R curves measured from single edge-notched bend (SEN(B)) specimens with different out-of-plane and in-plane constraints. The J-R curve equations with considering unified constraint can be applied in structural integrity assessment of the DMWJ structure for improving accuracy. The methods of applying and constructing unified constraint-dependent J-R curves are discussed.
