Contrairement aux publications scientifiques internationales, il n’y a actuellement pas d’obligation en France de déclaration des conflits d’intérêt (CI) pour les communications orales ou affichées de pharmacie.
Évaluer la proportion de communications pharmaceutiques affichées en France mentionnant spontanément une déclaration de CI.
Étude prospective. Toutes les communications affichées lors de trois congrès de pharmacie hospitalière tenus en France entre novembre 2011 et mars 2012 ont été examinées. Le critère d’évaluation principal était la proportion d’affiches avec une déclaration de CI, même négative, la mention de CI avérés étant aussi recueillie. Une analyse en sous-groupes a été effectuée en fonction de l’origine géographique des auteurs.
Sur 294 affiches annoncées, 263 étaient effectivement en place, 252 ne comportaient aucune mention relative à des CI, 11 mentionnaient l’existence ou l’absence d’un CI (4,2 %). Le taux de mention d’existence ou d’absence de CI variait de 1,1 à 25 % selon le congrès. Les affiches d’origine française mentionnaient moins souvent l’existence ou l’absence de CI (<2 %) que celles d’origine étrangère (>40 %).
À défaut d’une démarche volontaire de transparence des auteurs de communications affichées, les instructions données par les organisateurs de congrès français devraient être plus directives.
Since 1995, disclosure of conflicts of interest in international scientific publications became systematic, but, in France, there is yet no obligation to mention them in oral communications or posters of pharmacy.
To assess the rate of posters in hospital pharmacy meetings which mention potential conflicts of interest.
A prospective study. All abstracts presented in printed poster format were evaluated during three hospital pharmacy meetings organized in France between November 2011 and March 2012 for the presence of the conflicts of interest disclosure, even if there were no conflicts of interest. The main outcome was the rate of posters with mentions of potential conflicts of interest. A subgroup analysis was conducted about geographic origin of authors.
On 294 announced posters, 263 were displayed, 252 did not mention any conflict of interest, 11 mentioned the possibility or not of conflict of interest (4.2%): the rate ranged from 1.1 to 25% according to the meeting. Posters from France disclosed less often conflicts of interest (<2%) than foreign ones (>40%).
The rate of spontaneous disclosure of conflicts of interest is very low within French pharmacists. The instructions given by French meeting organizers should be more directive on the matter.
