The effect of different types of ligands (EDT, BeSH, S2− and SCN) on the sensitivity properties of infrared photodetectors based on colloidal HgSe quantum dots was investigated. Current–voltage characteristics and dependences of the responsivity and detectivity of the photodetectors on the bias voltage were obtained. It was shown that the SCN ligands provided the maximum values of responsivity and detectivity due to the optimal potential barrier between quantum dots and the lowest Schottky barrier at the HgSe quantum dots/Au junction. These values were 0.5 A/W and 3.1 ×107 Jones, respectively.
