  • Superamphiphobic surface fabricated by hydrolytic co-condensation fluoroPOS/SiO2 NPs with hot water repellency and excellent corrosion resisting durability. [Display omitted] Superamphiphobic surfaces with low sliding angles, hot water repellency and multi-functionalities are attractive in academic and industrial fields but very challenging to construct. Herein, we present a facile spray-coated polyperfluoroalkylsilane/SiO2 nanoparticles (fluoroPOS/SiO2 NPs) surface featuring excellent static and dynamic superamphiphobicity towards various liquids including cold water, strong acid/alkali, hot water and even n-hexadecane with surface tension as low as 27.5 mN·m−1. The fluoroPOS/SiO2 NPs were fabricated by one-pot hydrolytic co-condensation of tetraethyl orthoilicate (TEOS) and 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane (PFDTES) in the presence of SiO2 NPs. The morphologies and chemical compositions of the fabricated superamphiphobic (SAPB) surface were analyzed. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) results present a significant improvement by five orders of magnitude of the Rct value. After ten days exposure to corrosive environments, the Rct value shows little changes demonstrating an outstanding long term anticorrosion performance. We believe this versatile and applicable SAPB fabrication strategy could supply a promising functional materials for broad domains.
