Le remplissage lacustre du maar de Nogaret est daté du Pliocène final par une faune de grands Mammifères proche de celle du niveau repère de Saint-Vallier, âge étayé par les mesures K/Ar d'un dyke et de coulées voisines. Un affleurement, un sondage carotté et plusieurs excavations ont livré des empreintes foliaires et des grains de pollen. Les milieux végétaux évoqués sont ceux qui occupent aujourd'hui l'Anatolie septentrionale où domine
Carpinus orientalis. Ces sédiments relèvent d'une phase du Tiglien.
The lacustrine deposits in the Nogaret maar belongs to the uppermost Pliocene according to a lake Mammal fauna close to the Saint-Vallier fauna and to the K/Ar measurement of a dyke and of neighbouring outflows. Several sections (outcrop, cored borehole and diggings) yielded floral remains (leaves and pollen grains). The modern northern Anatolia vegetation (with mainly
Carpinus orientalis) has been taken into account for the paleovegetation around the maar of Nogaret. The sediments belong to a phase in the Tiglian.
