Abstract 3D printing enables faster innovation speeds in various scientific and industrial application fields. Only recently, researchers and developers have started to take advantage of additive manufacturing for the production of functional optics where users benefit from fast and flexible design iterations as well as freedom of design. For the fabrication of miniaturized optical systems, however, most of the 3D printing technologies available in the market today do not provide the resolution and precision needed to complement established micro‐optics manufacturing technologies.
