• For millennia, the nuclear family (one man, one woman, and their children) has been regarded as a cornerstone of civilization. But, of course, the family should not be defended just on account of the inertia of tradition. There are compelling reasons to protect and strengthen its place in society. Human nature has a social nature, a nature nurtured by the civil society and especially its most basic institution the family. Modern society for ideological reasons seems to be running an experiment against reality, the reality of our human nature. Since our human nature is social, the experiment is likely to bring loneliness and the despair and nihilism that often accompany the lonely.
