  • Diabetes, characterized as a persistent metabolic condition, requires efficient self-management approaches to achieve optimal health results. Mobile applications have emerged as auspicious instruments for facilitating diabetes self-care. This research seeks to enhance the development of Diabetes Self-Management Apps through the incorporation of user-centric methodologies. Employing Semi-Structured Interviews (SSI) involving both end users and healthcare professionals, the study aims to discern user requirements and formulate a novel model centered around user preferences. Qualitative data analysis methods are employed to extract themes from the SSI data, aligning with participant values. The results yield valuable insights for crafting user-friendly self-management applications tailored to the evolving landscape of diabetes care. Noteworthy themes extracted from the SSI data underscore the significance of personalized approaches to diabetes self-care, integration of tailored feedback, social support, positive reinforcement, and the promotion of positive emotions. By addressing user-identified aspects, this research propels advancements in diabetic management models, ensuring they better cater to user expectations and requirements. The study makes a substantial contribution to the domain of diabetes self-management by prioritizing user-centric design and offering insights to amplify the effectiveness and user appeal of self-management applications.
