• practical writing is a necessary basic skill for contemporary college students. Both liberal arts students and science and engineering students should master this skill, which has great benefits in job hunting, entrepreneurship, work and life after graduation. The reform and innovation of practical writing teaching in Colleges and universities is an urgent task for our college teachers and an important part of quality education. This paper analyzes the practical writing in Colleges and universities by means of literature review and teaching experience summary. It is believed that the teaching quality of practical writing in Colleges and universities can be improved by updating teaching concepts, expanding teaching classes, enriching teaching contents and methods.
