  • To investigate the curative effect of bezoar on cognitive disorder induced by febrile convulsion (FC). Method: Twenty - four healthy SD rats were divided into the FC group and normal control group. In order to establish a rat model of FC, the rats in FC group were treated with 45 ℃ hot water bath to induce febrile seizures. The high fever rates which have no symptoms of convulsions will be screened and removed. The left rats will be divided into four groups: bezoar group, antelope horn oral solution group, diazepam and ibuprofen group, and model group. Every morning and afternoon the FC group were induced to a febrile convulsions by high fever, and after convulsions, the rectal temperature of the FC group was measured and conducted by intragastrical administration separately. (Bezoar, Cornua liquid, Diazepam, Ibuprofen, Normal saline), then, observe and record the convulsions latency, the hyper pyretic convulsion, the temperature after febrile, and grade variation. The normal control group was bred normally, the other five groups was experimented by the Morris water maze test and Open field test. Compared with the duration of the model group, the duration of convulsions in the bezoar group was significantly reduced in the whole, which was less than western medicine group and cornua liquid group. The tendency of temperature after febrile seizure of the bezoar group's group was significantly lower than that of western medicine group and cornua liquid group. Convulsions latency went up steadily. Compared with the model group, the time of bezoar group was significantly decreased in the Morris water maze test without significant difference. Compared with the model group, the stand time of bezoar group reduced obviously in the open field test (p<0.05). Compared with the model group, the number to walk of bezoar group reduced without significant difference. In conclusion, we have demonstrated that Bezoar has a certain improving effect to cognitive disorder caused by FC.
